SHIPPING AND INSURANCE INFORMATION
Below you will find a brief explanation of the shipping choices to help you select the right carrier for your purchase. All items are shipped from our facilities in South Carolina. You can calculate the approximate time to your destination according to your distance from South Carolina. Please allow two days for order processing and shipping. Shipping times are based on the shipping date, not the order received date. Please note that furniture can only be shipped by freight methods.
USPS Priority Shipping - The average time for Priority shipping is 2-3 days. This is not a guarantee as shipping to the West Coast, Alaska or Hawaii shipping take 3 - 4 days for shipping. This is an excellent method of shipping if you are purchasing only one or two items, or if you are shipping to the west coast, Alaska or Hawaii. This option is not available for furniture shipping over 70 lbs. This will be the default method of shipping if the package weight is under 6 pounds.
UPS Ground - The average rate of ground service shipping for UPS is 5 days. If you are having your purchase shipped to the west coast, Alaska or Hawaii, it will take approximately 8 days. Please note that UPS does not consider the day of pick up as a day of shipping. This is an excellent method of shipping if you are having a large quantity of items shipped, the value of the contents is higher than $150.00 or if the weight of the box is more than 6 pounds. This option is not available for books or printed material.
Overnight Delivery or Express Mail - This option is moderately costly, but is guaranteed to arrive on time, with only a few exceptions. There are some areas within the US where guaranteed next day delivery is not available. This option is not available for furniture shipping over 70 lbs.
International Shipping - We do ship worldwide, however it is impossible for us to calculate all the possible variable for international shipping if you have selected a combination of reservation items as well as in stock merchandise. If the items you have selected will not be shipping at one time, your costs may be higher than the cart program indicates. If all items as being shipped at the same time your shipping costs will be as stated on the order. However please keep in mind, if there is postal increase between the time you place your reservation and the item(s) are shipped there can be a price increase. If you will email and let us know what you would like to purchase and the speed at which you would like for these items to be delivered, a quote will be emailed within 24 hours. The average rate of speed for air mail is 9-10 days.
Freight Shipping for Furniture - We will arrange for the shipping but you are responsible for paying the shipping costs. The cost is around $3.00 per lb depending where it is being shipped in the US.
Insurance - All orders that are shipped must be insured and include a tracking number. Depending on the delivery method you select (USPS or Fed Ex) what is covered under this insurance does vary. Fed Ex covers damaged items as well as non delivered items. In most cases Fed Ex requires a signature before the package is left. USPS only coveres damaged items, not non delivered items and they do not require a signature to leave your shipment. Once the tracking number registers as being delivered on the USPS web site, it is considered to be received by our customer. In the event of non delivery, you should contact USPS, not Mountain View Hotel Antiques. Insurance for international shipments covers the loss of a package, not for any damages in the package.
Notice: Individuals 85 years old and older in South Carolina - You are entitled to a 1% state sales tax reduction on items purchased for your personal use. You must ask for the reduction and present proof of your age.
